Terms of Use

Last updated September 29, 2026

By using Lou, you agree to what follows. It is short on purpose.

What Lou is

Lou is a self-help app. It gives you a reading of your situation and a guided daily program. It is offered as is, without any guarantee of a particular result.

Lou is not a crisis service

Lou is not a therapist, a doctor or an emergency service, and it does not replace any of them. If you might hurt yourself or you feel unsafe, call or text 988 in the US, text HOME to 741741, or call 911 in an emergency.

Subscriptions and free trial

Some features need a subscription. If a free trial is offered, it turns into a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Your subscription renews automatically. You can manage or cancel it in your iPhone's Settings, under your Apple ID, then Subscriptions. The SOS pause stays free, always.

Your content

What you write belongs to you and stays on your phone. You are responsible for keeping a copy if you want one; Settings lets you export it.

Fair use

Don't try to disrupt the app or reverse engineer it. The texts, illustrations and code of Lou belong to us.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, the app will tell you.
